Pike Rovers 0-2 Caherdavin U-12 League

Pike went down by 2 goals to nil to a well drilled Caherdavin side who seemed hungrier to get the win.Caherdavin were that bit more physical than the Pike side and this had a big bearing on the result.A goal in each half won the game for the visitors.Pike had plenty of possession but poor distribution led to their downfall.Best for Pike on a disappointing night were D.Griffin,W.O Sullivan,D.O Donoghueand D.Ryan

Both sides deserve enormous credit for serving up an entertaining game of football on a very heavy pitch.The early exchanges were even and it was 15 minutes before Pike made the breakthrough with Shane Walsh shooting home from a narrow angle.This settled Pike and in a glorious 10 minute spell the hoops added 3 more goals through Dylan Meehan,Dylan Hanley and Daniel O Donoghue.To the credit of Hyde they never gave up and scored the best goal of the game with a powerful headed effort.With the going getting heavier both sides seemed to tire in the second half.Pike added further strikes from Jamie Kennedy and another S.Walsh effort to leave the final score 6 - 1 in favour of the hoops.Those to play well with the scorers were Cian Lynch,Darren Griffin Dylan Ryan,Wesley O Sullivan and Nathan Quinlivan.
